Montepulciano and its "Nobile"
The historical city Montepulciano is known for its celebrated Nobile wine. We will visit the best vine producers and the wine cellars, tasting great quality wines. Walking in the medieval centre will astonish you because it’s one of the greatest examples of Tuscan hamlet.
Later we will move to Monticchiello. The feather in the hat of this enchanting village is its tradition of “poor theatre” performances during the summer. It’s also worthy to try its rural cuisine for example “pici”, a particular type of big hand-made spaghetti. The position of this hamlet offers an amazing view of Val d’Orcia. This landscapes has been used as a backdrop of important films.
The end of this unforgettable day will be Pienza, the queen of Val d’Orcia. You will walk among its rocky alleys amongst a symphony of scents and colours. Here you will taste “pecorino” cheeses and “salumi”, both produced in this area. And have the opportunity, if you wish, to buy local handcfrafts.
